Childhood Melodies

Everyday’s a childhood,
every day’s a wild wood,
Learning, yearning, as we should,
Sunshine bright, springtime breeze,
Memories of cradle songs, taught to be kind with ease.

Summer’s bloom, aspirations rise,
“I’ll be like you,” I fantasize,
But tales of the cuckoo bird,
Stealing songs, truths once heard.

Everyday’s a childhood, every day’s a wild wood,
Learning, yearning, as we should.

Troubles knock upon our door,
Heartbreak letters, leave us sore,
Yet within, love’s ember glows,
Singing beauty’s song, where the heart knows.

Love, the sun, truth, the rain,
Mercy soothes the growing pain,
Though stains may mar our sight,
Everyday, we’re young, taking flight.

Everyday’s a childhood, every day’s a wild wood,
Learning, yearning, as we should.
